A week ago my own method caught me out.

I ran a cross-vertical read on one industry. It surfaced a bridge between two verticals that looked like a real signal. The second pass refuted it: the numbers that made it look real did not survive a tighter check. Most analysis ships the first pass. I rebuilt and reran.

This week I pointed the same instrument at AI governance. The finding that came out the other side survives every check that killed last week's.

Here is the short version. Across 100,000+ AI and data articles, the governance conversation has already moved, and most 2026 plans are anchored to the word it left behind.

  • "AI Regulation" as a frame is shrinking. That publishing domain holds 91 articles. "AI Governance" holds 761. Same field, tagging its own work roughly eight to one toward the new word.

  • Inside governance discourse, 12 of the top 20 pains enterprises name are compliance, audit, or regulation-coded. Model risk (drift, hallucination, bias) sits a full tier below.

  • The work is splitting in two. Controls get automated, judgment gets hired, both surged in the same quarter.

  • Healthcare, Finance and Cybersecurity are entering the governance conversation at three very different speeds, and the order changes when you should move.

I wrote it up as The AI Governance Convergence, the first of four quarterly reads I'm calling Drops. Sixty pages, every claim carries its evidence, and bundle subscribers get the raw dimensional files so you can refute me on the same data I used.

The single report is €99 this launch week, €149 after. The full-year bundle (all four 2026 reads plus the trackers between them) is €499, then €999 from Friday.

If it sharpens one call you make this quarter, it earned its place. And if you read it and see something I didn't, tell me, that's the conversation I'm here for.
