  2. Instrument inference cost the way the firm instruments cloud cost. Per-feature, per-team, per-workflow. If finance cannot answer ”what did this AI feature cost us this month?” they cannot make the trade-off the product team needs by Q3.
  3. Run an agent game day before end of June. Pick the most consequential production agent. Inject a deliberate failure. Time the detection, the recovery, the customer impact. Document. Repeat quarterly.
  4. Write a one-page AI talent map. Named roles, named gaps, named training plan. Even thin first-pass. The CHRO that puts it on the operating committee is the strategic peer of the CFO.

The set list is changing because the underlying structure is real. The DJ who keeps spinning the headliner act (look at the new model, look at the new agent, look at the new partnership) to a room that is dancing to the support act (cost, reliability, talent, adversary) is going to lose the booking.
